Bed and Biscuits
Introduces
"The Chilean Four
"
Recently, Bed and Biscuits traveled to South America to
lend a helping hand to the nearly 500,000 street dogs in
Chile. Along our journey we were touched by many
amazing souls. We helped those we could and with tears,
loving hands and gentle words comforted those we could
not. These are just four of the nearly 1/2 million dogs that
are in need of help. These four forgotten souls found us
and the stars aligned just right which allowed them to
come home with us. After getting them cleaned up, to a
vet and a 6000 mile journey to America we are proud to
introduce you to.....
Chile
Named after the country she was born in this little girl was the first
one on the manifest to America. The moment our eyes locked with
hers we knew she would be accompanying us home. Chile suffers
from an enlarged heart and it looks like will undergo surgery to
help it. She is approximately six months old and we think she
deserves a life were food, shelter and lots of love are not optional.
Meet Amara...whose breed looks to be that of a Chilean Fox Terrier. She
is one of the sweetest most loving dogs that we have ever come across.
She is looking for a home preferably with children as she thinks small
people are the coolest things she has ever seen. Out of all four of the
dogs she has adjusted to people handling her the best. Once she
realized that humans provide not only food, clean water, shelter and
medical care but they also provide countless hours of play, fun and love
she was hooked. If you are interested in being considered for Amara
please contact Michelle at the kennel.

Isabel
Cruz
We ran into Cruz while we were in Santa Cruz.
Cruz is the only boy of the Chilean Four and most
definitely that baby of the group. He is the most
timid but has started to let his ears down and play
with the others and we are happy to report that he
has begun to act like a puppy and come out of his
shell.
Our hearts collided with Isabel near Santa Isabel. She was
very timid and shy and would freeze on the spot when
human hands touched her. She has begun to learn that
human hands provide comfort and love. She melts the
hearts of everyone who meets her and was officially
adopted by her Dad on 3/22/2011. Congratulations to Isabel
and her Dad Jimmy.
A SPECIAL THANK YOU TO:

Sean Kennedy
: who arranged the air fare to South America and back and who helped each step of the
complicated road we had to take to get these four to America. You never wavered even when we were sitting at
cargo trying to get the dogs out and about to miss our own flight back home. Your calm gave me a sense of calm
and that was just the best gift ever. Your heart is my heart and I felt that when we were there working towards
making dogs lives better. You knew what I was headed into which in turn meant you were headed into the same
and you still took me. Thank You for supporting me and understanding my need to help those without a voice.
You are an amazing man.

: We will forever be in debt for your translation services. We could not have done this without
you. You were integral to us. Please know that we plan on getting a copy of Rosetta Stone asap so the next time
we can understand some of what is being said. :) Oh yeah...thanks for the tip on how to say I do not like
mushrooms in two countries.

Mom- Thank you for accompanying me on this journey and holding my hand on each of the flights because I was
terrified. I am still a loser when it comes to that flying thing. Most of all Mom thanks for helping me do what I feel I
was put on this earth to do. Help make the lives of dogs better. Thanks for reminding me that I can only do what I
can do and though these hands are small-in the overwhelming problem of homeless dogs- they are my hands,
they are strong and they are enough - even if that means they are enough to just one dog. Thanks for drying my
tears when I had to walk away and leave the very souls that I felt needed me the most. Thanks for making me
laugh through the pain. Thanks for seeing my vision and wanting it too. Thanks for everything Mom. I love you.
Here's to our birthdays next year!

A Very Special Thank You-

All of us at Bed and Biscuits would like to thank all of you who so graciously order room service items for your
dog when they come to camp. The proceeds of the Room Service Menu go to help different rescues every
month. So all year long we help those who are not lucky enough to have a family to love them. It is with your help
that we are able to do this and it is with your help that we were able to touch the lives of not only The Chilean
Four but many others as well. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
Our success in South America is
owed to you.

To the Cottone Family who made a very special donation towards helping the dogs of Chile.

To The Staff: You are the reason we are able to help dogs all over America every month. You tirelessly advocate
our Room Service menu every day in order to help dogs. You bathe, brush and pamper our friends that come to
us out of love not only for them but for those who are not fortunate enough to have their own families. To each
one of you I say thank you. These four were saved due to your hard work and devotion. Thanks for holding down
the fort while I was gone and a double thank you for letting me micro-manage you from 6,000 miles away. You did
a fabulous job! Love you all-
